These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all guests and participants of Ride On Surf Hotel and Ride On Surf Camp (“we”, “our”, “Ride On”, or “the Company”). By making a reservation or participating in any of our surf activities, you (“guest”, “you”, or “participant”) agree to comply with these Terms.
Hotel Reservations
• A 25% deposit of the total reservation amount is collected at the time of booking.
• This deposit is strictly non-refundable.
• The remaining 75% must be paid 30 days before check-in.
Surf Camp Bookings
• Follow the same payment and cancellation policies as hotel reservations.
Hotel & Surf Activities
• Cancellations made 30 days or more before check-in: forfeit the deposit.
• Cancellations made within 30 days of the check-in date: forfeit the full reservation amount.
• No refunds for cancellations due to family emergencies, canceled flights, closed roads, poor weather, or similar events.
Reservation Date Changes
• Changes requested 15 days or more prior to check-in: no change fee, subject to rate changes and availability.
• Changes requested within 15 days of check-in are treated as cancellations.
Health & Responsibility
• All participants must be in good health and capable of swimming.
• Guests must follow all instructions provided by instructors and staff.
• Guests must use provided surf equipment responsibly and report any damage immediately.
Risks & Liability
• Surfing involves inherent risks, including injury, drowning, and marine encounters.
• Participation is at your own risk. The Company is not liable for injuries, accidents, or damages sustained during surf activities.
Weather-Related Cancellations
• Ride On reserves the right to cancel any surf activity due to unsafe weather or ocean conditions, with no refund.
• If possible, canceled sessions may be rescheduled to another available day or time.
Medical Conditions
• Guests must notify us of any medical conditions or special requirements prior to booking.
• We reserve the right to decline participation if someone is deemed unfit.
Equipment Policy
• Surf equipment is provided only for surf lessons, unless otherwise stated.
• Guests are financially responsible for any damage to or loss of equipment due to negligence.
Hotel Property Rules
• Smoking is not permitted on hotel grounds.
• No dogs or cats allowed on the premises. Jungle animals may occasionally pass through.
• Water usage: During the dry months of March and April, we ask guests to use water conservatively. Although we have a backup tank, temporary water shortages(a few hours) are possible.
Private Events
• Private events are allowed with prior approval from the hotel manager.
Taxes
• A 13% IVA (Value Added Tax) applies to all bookings.
Insurance
• Guests are strongly advised to carry personal travel and health insurance that covers hotel stays and surf-related activities. The Company is not responsible for expenses related to accidents or medical emergencies.
Photography & Media
• We may take photos or videos of surf sessions and hotel life for marketing purposes. By staying with us or joining our surf activities, you consent to the use of your image unless you inform us in advance.
Code of Conduct
• All guests must treat fellow guests, staff, and the environment with respect. We reserve the right to remove anyone engaging in inappropriate or disrespectful behaviour, without refund.
Governing Law
• These Terms are governed by the laws of Costa Rica. Any disputes shall be settled in Costa Rican courts.
Changes to These Terms
• We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of our services after changes are made implies acceptance of the updated Terms.
Personal Info:
• Name, email, phone, payment details, special requests.
Non-Personal Info:
• IP address, browser/device, pages visited, referral source.

Sharing Your Data
